Welcome to the first edition of Perspective for 2009 and my best wishes for a great year!

In this edition, we are focusing on a variety of business and technical issues that many of our clients face across the globe. Our Case Study is centered on Risk Based Testing and how a large enterprise saved time, effort and cost in delivering a critical program of work.

Our Industry Comment paper looks at how to mitigate security threats that companies are facing with the advent of new technology and compliance, whilst our White Paper highlights how to define a robust testing approach in an Agile development arena to ensure that companies can maximize the advantages.

CSR Update

The AppLabs Charitable Trust (ACT) has continued its benevolent work through several projects. On the recent Diwali festival, the ACT Team visited Rakshana Deepam which is a home for over 50 men, women and children with HIV. In addition to contributing medicines needed by the home, the team also distributed crackers and sweets to the children and spent time interacting with them.

The Confederation of India Industries (CII), the leading industry body in India, has recognized the important work AppLabs undertakes in caring for those living with HIV/AIDS and the work they do to prevent further infection. As such, The CII has invited AppLabs to be part of the CII National CSR Panel.

AppLabs presents at Europe's Largest Testing Conference

EuroSTAR 2008 took place in The Hague, Netherlands on 10-13 November. John Brennan, Principal Consultant for AppLabs delivered a thought leading presentation entitled 'Red Hot Testing in a Green World'. It looked at the critical issues we are facing in terms of our deteriorating environment and how testing can be restructured to help minimize any detrimental effect.

Chariman of AppLabs speaks at NASSCOM CEO Summit

Sashi Reddi, Founder and Chairman of AppLabs spoke at the NASSCOM CEO Summit in Kolkata on 11-12 November on the panel entitled ‘The Emerging Entrepreneur'.

The event was structured to address key issues in the industry today and evaluate the measures that will position the Indian IT-BPO sector for its next phase of growth. Positioned as an exclusive gathering for CXOs with the theme 'Beyond Horizon', the two-day event provided a platform to meet, strategise, network and capture 'out-of-the-box' ideas.
